Dr. James Maher graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1987. He has worked as a GP in Creswick and Clunes for many years and during that time he became interested in the treatment of skin cancers as they were so prevalent in the farming community.
He completed his 5 year Fellowship in Skin Cancer in 2013, and works as an accredited primary care skin cancer doctor. He tutors in skin cancer for Deakin University and the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. His Ballarat Practice is now solely related to the care of skin cancer. He is able to assist with early detection of skin cancers, mole mapping, and the medical/surgical treatment of skin cancers and sun-damage.

She will help you stay informed, diligently check and monitor your skin using cutting edge technology, assess your risk of skin cancer and escalate any concerns or troublesome spots to our Skin Cancer Ballarat team of doctors. As Amy is a Registered Nurse, without a provider number, clients are unable to claim Medicare Rebates on skin checks. Amy is passionate about finding skin cancers and helping her patients understand the reality of sun damage.
